Every
child's safety is, as adults, our job. On this page you will find
hints and tips on ways to reduce a child's risk of being abused.
Monitor what your child watches on television. Violence teaches violence.
Monitor your child's internet access. Talk to your child about
internet safety. Discuss the importance of not giving our their name,
address, or any other personal information. Make it easy for your
child to tell you about anything that makes them feel uneasy or
uncomfortable. Talk openly.
Help your child understand the term "cyber-bullying", most commonly
seen amongst children from the same school or neighborhood.
Cyber-bullying takes many forms. It is any act of intimidation,
aggression, or harassment made possible through the use of digital
communications. Cell phones with cameras have become an increasing
concern.
Make sure your child knows some basic safety rules: Never go with a stranger
.
If you live in one of our service areas of service contact your child's school to see if they offer the
