Do you feel...angry, frightened, anxious, confused, less than, or that you want more for your children?  Casa de Esperanza is here for you.

There is help.  You can break the cycle, for yourself and your children.  You are strong enough and smart enough to do it.

Casa de Esperanza  staff are trained to provide you with...individual counseling as a resident client or as an outside client, crisis intervention in person or via our hot line, and provide you with support, advocacy, and accompaniment.

Power and Control. 


Casa de Esperanza has staff who speak Spanish, Punjabi, Hmong, Hindi, and German as well as an advocate skilled in Sign Language.
All languages may not be available 24-hours a day.                     

    
       You Are Not Alone - The Effects of DV are     
         devastating,
in both long term and short term.

 


  • Every 12 seconds a women is beaten in the United States by a man who says he loves her.  95% of all victims are women.
  • In 5% of domestic violence cases, the man is the victim. 
  • 75% of all female homicides are committed by spouses or intimate partners.
  • More women arrive in emergency rooms because of DV than because of automobile accidents, muggings, and rapes combined.
  • 25% of all female victims are battered during pregnancy.
  • Domestic violence is a major cause for lack of employment and absenteeism from work.
  • Domestic violence is a leading cause of substance abuse among women trying to escape the pain of their relationship.
  • Domestic Violence affects children.  It affects the parenting skills of the victim and leaves children feeling frightened, confused, angry, and abandoned.
                   October 1 marks the beginning of       
Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Join us by wearing a purple ribbon, tie one on your car antenna, and encourage your family and friends to participate.  Our DV Candlelilght/Solidarity walk will be on October 9, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting at the Ellis Lake Gazebo in Marysville, CA.  Call Casa for more information and a list of other events for the month.
